About the Role:

  • Deliver high-quality lecturing and assessment activities, including marking learner work and designing assessment and exam tasks.
  • Monitor the standards of learner work against awarding body requirements and work closely with the Assistant Area Head to ensure an outstanding learner experience.
  • Use E-Portfolios to monitor progress and complete online learner portfolios.
  • Provide effective personal and academic tutorial support through Individual Learning Plans, and support apprentices during teaching, delivery, and assessment.
  • Manage and administer the units you teach efficiently, ensuring all programme of study requirements are met for a range of learner groups.
  • Assist the Assistant Area Head in leading and delivering Electrical Installation standards.
  • Promote Electrical Installation courses through school liaison, open events, and wider marketing activities.
  • Liaise with employers and organise high-quality work experience and enrichment opportunities such as live projects, industry talks, and trips for apprentices.
  • Lead on quality monitoring and action planning, while supporting and mentoring colleagues within the team.
  • Take part in regular evaluation processes and report outcomes to senior colleagues to support continuous improvement.

Essential Qualifications:

  • Level 3 Electrical Installation qualification (or equivalent), encompassing an NVQ and AM2 assessment.​
  • Relevant teacher training or the wiliness to complete within 3 years of employment (3 years of the first available course)
  • Assessor's Award (TAQA) or a willingness to achieve in post.​
  • Internal Quality Assurance Award at Level 4 or a willingness to achieve in post.​

Essential Experience:

  • You’ve been there, done the job—real experience as a working electrician.
  • Grounded in the trade with genuine hands-on electrical experience.
  • You've built your career on the tools—now it’s time to share that expertise.
